"This Must Be the Place" by the Talking Heads. Still love it, though, if we are out, since that never gets played anywhere, Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" is our song.
We went with Amazed by Lonestar...typical. BUT, we said later that we should have gone with Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. They both have sentimental value to us, though, so I guess it's alright. And we hear the latter much more often ;)
Being upstanding Christianfolk, we didn't have a dance. So, for our twentieth, coming up next year, we are gonna have a real humdinger of a hoe-down. And the first song? In deference to my wife, it will probably be something by Daughtry. Or, if I get a say, and can pick something that spans the years, it will be something by Charlie Peacock . . .
But I'm also leaning toward whatever song that dude above me picked, in Chinese, or whatever . . .
It has great wedding / forever love type lyrics. Love the chorus:
And they said this feeling fades, it gets stronger everyday. And they said that beauty fades. You're more beautiful than ever. They said we'd drift away, we're still standing here. And it feels like everyday is our anniversary.
Kind of a similar theme to my sister @VDog's first dance: "Still the One" by Shania Twain. ;D
& My fiance's brother's dance a few years ago was, "God bless this broken path, it led me straight to you". ;-)
A friend from college had "At Last" [Ella, of course].

ReplyDeleteWink and a smile, Harry Connick Jr. I almost never hear mine out in public either.

Ooooh.
ReplyDelete"This Must Be the Place" by the Talking Heads is a *great* selection.
My sweetie & I haven't picked a song yet. We've got over a year, for sure, to decide.
A song I've thought about but think might be a little melancholy, is "Anniversary" by Voltaire.
