This is a seriously powerful song.
The songwriter is gay, and wrote about her own experience.

But.

It could be about me.
I'm sure I do not measure up.
I'm confident that I fail to meet the expectations.
I am human.

It could be about you.

Try this:
Pray about people, things you don't like...
things you don't understand...
Not that God will change them, 
but that He will soften your heart.

But if this God to whom you pray

is the same God I was raised to believe in

you'd better take it up with Him
