dear senator clinton

Dear Mrs. Clinton,

I am opposed to the federal government bailing out the financial institutions that have failed recently. I am especially concerned about this portion of the plan:

Sec. 8. Review.
Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.

Our entire governmental system is founded on Checks and Balances. Any fourth grader should be able to tell you that. And this passage makes it illegal for any person or institution to question the Secretary's judgment! Horrifying. Unconstitutional.

Do not support this plan. You must fight against this bail-out. It is wrong, and it does not support the Constitution of our Nation. It is bad enough that the President of the United States has stepped boldly out of line, violating the Constitution with this proposal. Do not let the Senate follow him blindly.

  1. Um, hi. Did you see the rant on this on The Daily Show? I couldn't agree more. This just in: I think the deal fell apart. I'm sure they'll work something out over the weekend, but I, for one, don't want to pay for it.

  2. i think the bail out is the most ridiculous thing i have ever seen--i dont' even have words to describe it! ack!

  3. Can you seriously believe that they expect us to pay for a bunch of Billionaires (with a B) screw ups? I'm so mad I could just spit. I just may too!

Ahhhh...If I ran the world they'd have to figure out their mortgages just like the rest of us slobs. It amazes me that the richer people are the more someone else is supposed to take care of them.

  4. I wish you actually were the boss of things in DC. You make an excellent point in your letter to Her Clintoness. Thankfully the thing didn't pass as is, we'll see what the next round looks like (not that we, the people funding the bailout, have a say in what happens with our money).

talk to me, people. because you know i get all giddy when you do.
