There is schooling, there is play.
There is a dadda who works long hours, and a mama who does, too.
There isn't much canning this year.
There are books and snuggles on the sofa.
There are things unfinished, and it is possible that there are too many popcorn dinners.
But then again, maybe not.
There is life happening behind this quiet space.
popcorn dinners with a flintstone vitamin dessert count as much as feasts in my book. We do that a lot. It's my favorite
ReplyDeleteI would divorce Fred if he made Popcorn for dinner. I married him for one reason and that's because he's French and can cook. Okay, I may have married him for another reason but I don't want to scare off your readers.
ReplyDeleteYour Friend, m.
Beautiful. As for Mark's comments - one of the reasons I married Jeff is because he cooks. Camille and I are making a grocery list right now and she wanted to know who was cooking tonight - whether we'd be having a "good" dinner or "just chalupas." This is Sardine Mama, btw.
ReplyDeleteconsidering my kids ate popcorn for several meals last week, i'm not judging.
ReplyDeleteLove it. And I think there is PLENTY of canning going on! :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the understated elegance of your post.
