emmet otter's jug band christmas, or, eighty-five times was enough, thanks.

This is going to be a really short story.

Once upon a time, The Mister got Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas from his parents for Christmas. He watched it once or twice and then it sat quietly, innocuously, lying in wait, in the bottom drawer of the cabinet in the living room.

Then it was discovered by the short people, and ever since I have been subjected to the River Bottom Nightmare.

You can get it for $8 on Amazon. It's well-worth the money if you get your crazy meds for free, or if you need some time alone to do things like shower. Or stab yourself in the eyes.

Disclosure: This isn't actually a review. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.

  4. Also, this movie used to make me cry when I was a kid because they were so poor and I just couldn't understand that. It seemed so unfair to me. It still does. Fucking poverty.

  5. Never saw the movie, but I am a proud owner of MULTIPLE copies of John Denver and the Muppets Christmas album. I love that song, and the album! You haven't lived until you've heard Rowlf the Dog singing a duet with John Denver on Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.

  6. Oh my GOSH that movie! It is my mom's FAVORITE Christmas movie and she used to make us watch it every year. I had no idea that there where actual good Christmas movies like White Christmas and Diehard until I met the hubs.

  7. Wow, that is totally random synchronicity. Up til this weekend, I'd only heard of it because my husband watched it as a kid. I just met the wife of the guy who wrote all this music, and the The Muppet Movie music. (She claims she came up with the Rainbow Connection idea :-) They live here in Santa Barbara and she was telling me they have a live theatre version of this that was in some theatre in Connecticut last year, and they brought it back this year and are looking at bringing it to bigger cities.

  8. I remember a cartoon version of emmit otter. I can't find info about it anywhere. I'm beginning to think I dreamed it. The animation was very similar to the book.
